Celebrating more than 50 years of teaching experience in the Ottawa region, the Katharine Robinson School of Highland Dancing features professional highland dancing instruction and performance, for all levels from beginners through advanced.

​All are welcome at the school. Our programs cater to dancers from the ages of 2 and up, including adults and offer choreography and theory classes at competitive rates. All levels are offered at the school from advanced through competition and/or recreation.

We have certified teaching staff (BATD, SDTA), and offer yearly examinations.

About Ms. Katharine Robinson

Ms. Robinson, is a Life Member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (B.A.T.D.) and a Member of the Judges Panel of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (S.O.B.H.D.)

In honour of Ms. Robinson's esteemed accomplishments over 50 years of highland dance, a special tartan was commissioned: the Lady K Robinson 50 and Beyond Commemorative Tartan​.

The School Tartan

The Katharine Robinson School of Highland Dancing has operated in Canada's Capital for over 50 years! The Lady K Robinson 50 and Beyond Commemorative Tartan celebrates this milestone. The school and Ms. Robinson have always loved blue and red as school colours, and these represent Scotland and Canada respectively. Purple is also one of Ms. Robinson's favourite colours, while the black and double rows of white illustrate the joy and pride of dancing, triumphing over all obstacles. These are at the core of our school values, that students enjoy dance and take pride in their accomplishments.
